Practice assistant · India
Designed by a practising psychologist with 9+ years in the clinic
D. Bhatta built this for the practice he still runs — then opened it up for other Indian psychiatrists and psychologists to use.
Not a place to store notes. It tells you where a client actually stands before they walk back in, drafts the note, chases unpaid invoices, and runs payroll — the work an assistant would do if you could afford to hire one.

Who built this
D. Bhatta
Practising psychologist, 9+ years of clinical experience — designed the original product
Not a generic SaaS product adapted for mental health — built inside a real outpatient practice, by someone who still writes notes, sees clients, and runs a clinic day to day. Every workflow in Ritaja Practice was tested against an actual caseload before it shipped to anyone else.
It watches the week between sessions, not just the hour inside one
No India practice tool does this today — most stop at scheduling and a bill.
See them before they walk in
With the optional Ritaja Plus client app, mood logs, homework compliance, and risk flags from the whole week land on the chart — you open the file already knowing which day went wrong, not reconstructing it from what the client remembers to mention.
Session prep, already assembled
The brief before the hour is built from that same between-session data, so it names what actually happened instead of a blank note waiting for you to recall the last visit.
Reviewing past notes, assessments, and the plan for one client used to take 30–40 minutes.
Without Ritaja Practice
40 min
per client, before the session
With Ritaja Practice
10 min
per client, before the session
Before a follow-up, I would go back through past notes, any assessments done, what we had discussed, the plan, and what needed to happen next — then write that into the note. Done properly, per client, that took 30 to 40 minutes. With the brief assembled from the chart and the between-session data, I do the same preparation in about 10.
That was my own experience in one practice, not a guarantee. It depends on your caseload and how thorough your prep already is. The trial is there so you can find out on your own patients before paying anything.
Between-session client apps are an optional Ritaja Plus add-on, not bundled into the base Clinician plan — named explicitly in what’s included below.
End the juggling — 9 tools become one login
This is the exact stack the founder ran his own clinic on before he built this.
All 9, replaced by one Ritaja Practice login.
What every Indian clinician’s week already looks like
None of this is a failure on your part — it is what was available.
A client returns after months
You search three notebooks, or try to remember, before the session has even started.
Client notes live on WhatsApp
Your personal number, your personal phone — nothing in a proper file.
Payments tracked in a diary
Added up at month end, if there is time. No receipt trail, no clear picture.
A meeting link pasted into chat
Open to anyone who has it, not tied to one client at one time.
Clinician plan
₹2,770
INR per clinician / month
Billed and paid in rupees. No USD conversion, no exchange-rate surprises, no international card required.
Why this costs more than a scheduling app
Cheaper tools in India mostly book appointments and send a bill. This is priced as what would otherwise be three separate subscriptions and a part-time hire:
- Clinician payroll runs — most India tools at this price have no payroll at all
- Full clinic accounting — expenses, vendors, and P&L, not just client invoices
- AI drafts the note from the session — you review and sign, not type from scratch
- Automatic recall outreach that brings lapsed clients back without you chasing them
If your practice only needs scheduling and a bill, a cheaper tool may genuinely be the right fit — this one is priced for the parts of running a clinic that happen after the appointment ends.
What that time is actually worth, per session
Session prep, notes, and billing — the admin work around a single session.
Without practice software
~14–22 min
per session
Prep from memory, writing the note afterward, and re-entering the same client details into a separate billing tool or spreadsheet.
With Ritaja Practice
~3–6 min
per session
Prep assembled for you, an AI-drafted note you review and sign, and an invoice raised automatically the moment you sign it.
Roughly ~8–18 min back, every single session.
Based on a typical outpatient day of about 6 sessions. Time estimates are illustrative ranges based on typical outpatient clinic workflows. Your practice may save more or less depending on size, payer mix, and current tools.

- Couples and group sessions, no add-on fee
- 1:1 and group video, included

Turning a rough note into a proper one usually took 10 to 15 minutes.
Typing the rough note into a proper one
10–15 min
per client, after the session
With Ritaja Practice
5 min
dictate, review & sign
In the room, I write a rough note on paper — what came up, what I noticed. Afterward, that had to become the real record: typed up or copied into a proper note, SOAP or otherwise, Subjective through Plan. That step usually took 10 to 15 minutes, separate from the session itself. Now I look at the same rough note and dictate it — one click and the draft is ready. I review, edit anything that needs it, and sign, in about 5 minutes total. And the moment you sign, the invoice goes to the client automatically — no separate billing step.
That was my own experience in one practice, not a guarantee. It depends on how you write and how thorough your notes already are. The trial is there so you can find out on your own notes before paying anything. Read the full story →
Want the session to write itself? The AI scribe — dictate and get a finished draft note — is included on the Practice plan. Compare plans →
Where your clients’ records live
Hosted in India
Your data is hosted in Microsoft Azure’s Central India region — Pune — not routed overseas. Each clinic’s records also live in their own separate database, not shared tables with row filters.
Built for what Indian law already requires
India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 has been passed, and its consent and breach-notification rules are expected to take effect around mid-2027. Health records are already sensitive personal information under India’s existing IT Act rules. Ritaja Practice is built to meet that standard today, and ahead of DPDP as its provisions come into force — not something added later to catch up.
This is general information about the law, not legal advice for your practice.
How you pay
No credit card required — pay the way you already pay for everything else.
Bank transfer (INR)
NEFT, IMPS or RTGS to our Indian account — no international wire, no LRS form

Can’t afford the standard rate? Apply for ₹999/month.
We keep a limited, lower-priced tier for practitioners who genuinely want to run their practice on proper scheduling, a calendar, and basic accounting — the standard price just doesn’t work for them yet. It covers the essentials: calendar and scheduling, client records, and basic billing for a single-clinician practice.
This isn’t instant signup. Tell us about your practice below, and a team member will review your application and set up your account by hand if it fits.
Questions from India
- Is there practice management software for psychologists in India?
- Yes. Ritaja Practice is used by Indian psychiatrists, psychologists and counsellors for scheduling, clinical documentation, prescriptions, billing and a client portal in one place, priced in local currency. It replaces the usual mix of a paper register, WhatsApp, a meeting link and a spreadsheet.
- Does it support SOAP notes and other documentation formats?
- Yes. SOAP is available alongside DAP and BIRP, plus intake notes, treatment plans, progress notes, psychotherapy notes, medication management notes and prescription notes. Templates are built for outpatient mental health rather than adapted from hospital records, so the sections match how a session is actually documented.
- Can a psychiatrist and a psychologist work from the same records?
- Yes, for what should be shared: diagnoses, medications, and progress notes live on one chart rather than two disconnected files on the same person, so the psychiatrist can see what changed clinically before adjusting a medication and the psychologist can see what was prescribed and when. Psychotherapy process notes stay private to the clinician who wrote them, the way HIPAA already treats them separately from the rest of the record. Access is by role, and every view of a record is logged.
- Do my clients need to use an app?
- No. Documentation, scheduling, prescriptions and billing all work without a single client signing in. The client portal is optional and can be switched on later, for one client at a time, if and when it suits your practice.
- How do I pay from India?
- In rupees, by UPI from any UPI app or by bank transfer (NEFT, IMPS or RTGS) to our Indian account. There is no international wire and no LRS form — you are billed in INR at the price shown on this page.
- Is client data protected under Indian law?
- India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 has been enacted, though most of its requirements are not yet in force — the government has set a phased rollout, with the main consent and breach-notification provisions expected around mid-2027. Health records are already treated as sensitive personal information under India’s existing IT Act rules. Either way, each clinic’s records sit in a separate database rather than a shared one, staff see only what their role allows, and every access is logged. This is general information, not legal advice for your practice.
- Does Ritaja Practice include an AI scribe for session notes?
- The Clinician plan priced on this page includes AI note drafting for one-to-one sessions. Full dictation-to-finished-note AI scribe, with no length limit and support for couples and group sessions, is included on the Practice plan.
- Can I see how a client is doing between sessions?
- Yes, with the optional Ritaja Plus add-on. Clients log mood, homework completion, and check-ins from their own app between sessions, and it reaches your chart as trends and risk flags before their next visit — so you open the file already knowing how the week went, not reconstructing it from memory in the room.
